Williamsburg Gymnastics hosts USAG Regional Future Stars testing and qualifies three athletes.
On the weekend of October 12-13, 2019, Williamsburg Gymnastics hosted the USAG’s Region 7 Men’s Gymnastics Elite Training Camp and Future Stars Testing. Williamsburg Gymnastics hosted gyms from Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, athletes And their families in these premier high-level men’s gymnastics events and competition. Williamsburg gymnastics, under the coaching of P. Walker, C. Schrade, and M. Wirth, had one athlete, E. Osuna participate in the Elite Training Camp where he presented himself and his skills for consideration of the regional chairman and committee for the Region 7 Elite Team which will compete in February at the Winter Cup in hopes of qualifying to the Junior National Team.
Additionally, Williamsburg Gymnastics had 4 gymnasts, C. Stensland, M. Tope, C. Walker, and J. Whatley, testing to be included on the Region 7 Developmental Team in their respective age divisions. C. Stensland and J. Whatley both qualified for the Regional 9-year-old Developmental Team. C. Walker earned a score that will send him to the National Future Stars Qualifier in November in Colorado Springs at the US Olympic Training Center, where he will compete with other boys from across the nation for a spot on the Future Stars National Team and for the opportunity to attend national training camps.
