Updated: Nov 12, 2019

Strong start for the Williamsburg Gymnastics Women's Team

The Williamsburg Gymnastics women's competitive team competed at the annual Richmond Fall Classic. While all athlete from level 5-7 and Xcel Gold and Platinum athletes did well, the Xcel Diamond team really shined with multiple medals earned in all events. M. Vischer placed 1st in three of her four events which earned her the first place all around score. E. Doherty placed 2nd all around and also received 2nd place on uneven bars. M. Starr earned a 1st place medal on uneven bars and 3rd for all around. J. Wagner placed 2nd on vault and floor exercise and L. Herman placed 5th all around. As individuals they did great, but together they did amazing! They placed 1st in the team competition earning them a banner to bring back to the gym.

Owner and head coach, Pete Walker, stated, "I am very proud of the girls and how far they have come. Many hours have been put in at the gym training to get the skills needed to compete at this level." Most of these girls have been training with each other for multiple years and with the opening of the new gym facility have been able to put in the hours needed and train on top notch equipment to put them at a position to compete at a high level of gymnastics.

They hope to take this momentum with them to their next competition, the Astronaut Dave Brown Memorial Meet hosted by Williamsburg Gymnastics on December 14-15, 2019.
